John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who specialized in folk music, has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Many people took the road to Colorado after hearing Denver's popular songs for his home state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver is the Hall of Fames' first inductee, was honored with this honor in 2011. He is the face of Colorado to many around the world. When I travel, you may meet people at opposite sides of the world. For example an individual who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're Colorado-based, Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver recognized that the song could be a huge hit after it was discovered that an earlier version. After performing the song at Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver made a recording a few days from now.
